Rocky Point is located four hours south of Phoenix or Tucson, Arizona or eight hours from San Diego in the "free zone". The highway from the border to Rocky Point is well paved and maintained, and marked in Kilometers. You do not need a passport for travel in the free zone. There are no special permit or visas required to travel to Rocky Point and the "free zone", but all vehicles are required to carry Mexico car insurance, which is available online at mexins.com and mexicantouristpro.com. The port of entry is closed from midnight to 6 a.m.

Unless otherwise stated, your car insurance does not provide coverage in Mexico. Getting a policy to cover the duration of your trip is quick, cheap & easy. Click on the following links to get a policy. Fill out the forms, print and bring your policy with you for your trip.
